Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) has signed an MoU with the government of Andhra Pradesh to serve as the anchor shipyard for a mega greenfield shipbuilding industrial cluster.

The proposed industrial facility is scheduled for development at Dugarajapatnam in the Tirupati district of the state.

The Madhya Pradesh government has launched the ‘Swamitva Adhikar Abhilekh Nispadan Evam Panjiyan Yojana-2026’ to provide free registration for approximately 50 lakh rural properties across 55 districts.

It is to be noted that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India to offer free registration for rural residential plots under the scheme. The initiative was introduced during the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a campaign marking the birthday of PM Narendra Modi.

Punjab government has launched a digital identification portal named ‘Pehchaan’ to trace unidentified and unclaimed deceased persons in government mortuaries.

The portal records photographs, physical traits, and identification marks of the deceased within 48 hours to facilitate online searches and claims. It also features an automated alert system to notify Investigating Officers (IOs) for verification. It is to be noted that Punjab is the first state in India to implement such a system.

The National Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries Park Odisha Ltd (NSHIPOL) has received in-principle approval to establish a shipbuilding and heavy industries cluster in Kendrapara, Odisha, with a projected investment of ₹24,700 crore.

The approval was granted under the Shipbuilding Development Scheme (SbDS) of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW). The project will be implemented through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) comprising the Odisha Maritime Board (OMB) and the Paradip Port Authority (PPA).

The Andhra Pradesh government have signed a Government-to-Government (G2G) MoU with the UK government to strengthen cooperation in urban development, infrastructure, and advanced technology.

The partnership facilitates infrastructure planning and implementation across the state capital Amaravati and 123 municipalities, specifically targeting sectors like roads, drainage systems, water supply, and waste management.
