General NS Raja Subramani has assumed charge as the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of India. He succeeds General Anil Chauhan.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Military Advisor at the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) and is recognized as an expert on security matters concerning Pakistan and China.

Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan is appointed as the next Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) and will assume command on 31 May 2026. He succeeds Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi.
