Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) has handed over the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Ajit (Yard 1277) to the Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The vessel is the 7th in a series of 8 Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) being constructed for the ICG.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) had awarded the ₹473 crore contract to GSL in 2022 under the Buy-Indian Designed, Developed, and Manufactured (Buy-IDDM) scheme.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has commissioned the ICGS Akshay, a new-generation Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV), into its fleet.
The vessel, built by Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL), was inducted at the GSL facility in Vasco, Goa. It features over 60% indigenous content and is the fourth vessel in the Adamya-class FPV series.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has commissioned the Indian Coast Guard Ship 'Achal', a new-generation “Adamya-class” Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV), at the Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) in Vasco, Goa. The vessel will be stationed at Vadinar, Gujarat.
It is to be noted that the ship is the 5th of the eight FPVs being indigenously built by the GSL for the ICG. The 51 metre long vessel, featuring over 50% indigenous content, is powered by two 3,000 kW diesel engines. It has a maximum speed of 27 knots and an operational endurance of 1,500 nautical miles.
