Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved the operational guidelines for the 'PARIVARTAN' (Programme for Accelerated Renewal and Incentivization of Vehicle Assets for Reducing Transport Air Pollution and Network Emissions) scheme.
The scheme aims to replace old, highly polluting trucks and buses operating in the National Capital Region (NCR) with Bharat Stage (BS)-VI-compliant vehicles or Electric Vehicles (EVs).
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has signed an MoU with Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV), Force Motors, and Pinnacle Mobility Solutions. This agreement integrates these manufacturers into the Cabinet-approved Delhi-NCR Vehicle Replacement Scheme, which has a total outlay of ₹9,585 crore.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and SML Mahindra have signed an MoU with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to participate in the government’s fleet modernisation initiative.
The programme aims to replace aging commercial vehicles in the Delhi-NCR region to curb air pollution by offering manufacturing discounts. Mahindra joins other manufacturers like Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, and Switch Mobility in this initiative.
Tata Motors has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to join the Government of India (GoI) fleet renewal programme, which has an outlay of ₹9,585 crore.
The initiative aims to mitigate pollution by phasing out older commercial vehicles in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) and replacing them with cleaner alternatives.
