The Tamil Nadu government has launched the Singappen Special Task Force, an all-women police unit dedicated to preventing crimes against women and children.
Headed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) K Bhavaneeswari, the unit will deploy about 2,500 personnel in its initial phase. The government has allocated ₹354 crore for this initiative.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has signed a tripartite MoU with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co Ltd (HD KSOE), National Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries Park Tamil Nadu Ltd (NSHIP-TN), and Sagarmala Finance Corporation Ltd (SMFCL) to develop the first Mega Greenfield Shipyard in India at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
The project will have an annual shipbuilding capacity of 2.5 million Gross Tonnage (MGT). The agreement was exchanged during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Jae Myung. It is part of the India-ROK Comprehensive Framework ‘VOYAGES’ (Shared Vision for Operation of Yard Assisted Growth with Efficiency and Scale).
C Joseph Vijay, the president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The oath of office was administered by Governor Rajendra Arlekar at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

The Universal Records Forum (URF) has officially recognized him as the youngest and fastest individual to complete this route, surpassing the previous record of 10 hours and 30 minutes set by Jay Jashwanth in 2019.
